Grommet competition series in Halfway Beach, Kuta
This weekend, on Sunday July 16th 2017, first event of the annual grommet competition series “Billabong Bloodlines Series” will be happening at our neighbor beach, Halfway in Bali.
Halfway Beach often become a venue of surfing contests because good intermediate waves consistently break at this beach. Even from Kuta beach in front of Odysseys Surf School where you surf, you can easily spot Halfway at a bit Northern side; because it is always packed with intermediate surfers.
This series will be completed with following two events which will be held in Bali in next couple of months; Padma Beach on August 27th and Pererenan Beach on September 10th. Junior surfers upto 16 years old will earn points across the three events. In each division the winners will receive a trophy and gifts from Billabong and other event supporters, and the overall winner of the series will grab a shopping voucher which is worth 2 million Indonesian Rupiah.
Needless to say, not only the grommets but also their parents are very passionate about surfing. The grommet events like this are always nice and fun family gathering opportunity!
