OAKLEY PRESENTS SURF FOR BALI KIDS

Charity Dinner at Hu’u Bali Nets RP 20 million for the Bali Kids

12 October, 2007, Bali: On Friday night starting at around 7:30 PM, different kind of crowds from the usual weekend partygoers lining up to get in the door. The crowd peaked at around two hundred people, made up of members of the surfing community, media, and supporters of the Bali Kids to help raise money for a worthy cause, the needy kids of Bali, and specifically the Bali Kids non-profit organization who provide free medical and education for orphanages in Bali.

Oakley Thump Pro Surfing Competition 2007 at Bingin Beach

14 July 2007, Bingin Beach-Bali: 21 year old Wayan “Prayit” Suprayitna of Kuta put his aggressive backside attack to the test at the sucking dry reef break of Bingin Beach on the Bukit Peninsula today and came back to the beach in one piece to climb to the top spot of the podium in the third annual Oakley Thump Pro.

In a nail-biting final that was the culmination of two days of frequently small and inconsistent surf at the 6-star ISC (Indonesian Surfing Championship) event, Suprayitna was up against none other than Rizal Tanjung in the final. Rizal is more than 10 years his senior and last years ISC Pro Champion, in addition to having won the inaugural Thump Pro in 2005 and being the runner up in 2006. see more »

Odysseys Surf School joints the Oakley Surfing Competition in Kuta Beach. The party was held by Oakley to support “ Kuta Karnival” a celebration of life.

O BLOC JUNIOR CHALLENGE MAY 27,
2007 - PADMA BEACH

Padma Beach just north of Kuta was the site of the inaugural Oakley BLOC Junior Challenge under 16 surf competition. The rising sun lit up the glassy faces of the solid 2-3 foot beach break, with some of the big sectioning closeouts creating long horizontal lines of blinding white foam. The conditions looked to be challenging. In that good open waves, required patience and knowledge of the break. All the grooms that were gathered around the registration table were just frothing to get into it. By starting time there was a record of 84 contestants signed up to compete from as far away as Sumbawa, Lombok, Nusa Lembongan and East Java
