How to get around in Bali

You’ve arrived at your stay, and you are ready to explore Bali! But everything is pretty far away so walking is no option. We’ve listed some safe options of transport for you!

Taxis in Bali

Riding a taxi in Bali works the same way it does everywhere else – you hail a taxi from the curb, a taxi stops to pick you up, and off you go.

Recommended taxi meter: Blue Bird.

Car Rentals in Bali

If you have cash to spare, you can hire a car in Bali, with the option to drive it yourself. If you rent from a reputable car company, you can have the benefit of driving your own vehicle to Bali’s less-traveled destinations, with your range being limited only by your gas budget. Make sure you have an international driving license to drive car in Bali.

Motorcycle & Scooter Rentals in Bali

If you’re confident in busy traffic, renting a motorcycle or scooter can be your cheapest option. With the long traffic jams a scooter or motorcycle can be faster as well. Just make sure you’re insured and have an international driving license for scooter/bike.

Public Transport in Bali – Bemo

To get around Bali with the least expense, try riding one of the minibuses called bemo that run on set routes around the island. [1]

If you book a lesson with Odysseys surf school and stay in Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, Jimbaran, Sanur, Nusa dua or Tuban we’ll provide a free pickup if the booking is 24 hours before the lesson. You can book your lesson here or come to our office!
