The Rip Curl GromSearch series 3

The Rip Curl GromSearch series are youth surfing events that include boys and girls divisions in 16 and under, 14 and under, under 12’s with the addition of the Super Groms division (under 10 years old), commonly referred to as “groms”. The aim of the GromSearch is to nurture and recruit the next generation of surfers at a grassroots level.

The 2017 GromSearch Series will continue the third stop in the next few weeks on 16-17 September 2017 in Pererenan, Canggu, Bali. More than 50 ripping young surfers from Java, Bali, Sumbawa, Phillipines and Thailand are already registered and ready to compete in an exciting, safe and friendly environment.

To be competition eligible you must be the specified age as of the 31st December, 2017. All divisions are limited, with entry allocated on a first in first served basis. Participants may also enter all 3 qualifying events, giving these young surfers the maximum opportunity for competitive success.

The Rip Curl SE Asia GromSearch series is part of an international series and has been a great stepping stone for the recent champions of our sport. Former International GromSearch competitors who are currently competing on the WSL Championship Tour include: Gabriel Medina, Owen Wright, Jordy Smith, Kolohe Andino, Felipe Toledo, Steph Gilmore, Sally Fitzgibbons, Tyler Wright, Malia Manuel, Laura Enever and Alana Blanchard.
