- Is transportation included in the price?
Yes, transportation is included as long as your hotel is in the following area’s: Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. If your hotel is located outside these area’s there will be an additional charge for the pick up depending on your location and the location of the other guest we need to be transported to Odysseys Surf School.
After the lesson our staff will bring you back to your hotel, also free of charge.
- Can I bring my friends and family along to the surfing lesson with your free transport?
Parents may accompany their children in the van free of charge. In any other circumstances it would be best to inquire with our staff. Because, there might not be any room in the van for other friends or family due to other customers who need to be picked up from their hotel.
- I’m not staying in a hotel, but I’m staying in a private house. Can I still use the free transportation?
Unfortunately, that would not be possible. We only pick up guests from hotels and similar accommodations. We do not provide free transportation from and to private addresses.
- Does Odysseys Surf School provide the surfing equipment?
Yes, we provide everything you need to surf. We’ll provide the surfboard, leg rope/leash and rash shirts (and for the ladies also shorts). We also provide a range of free facilities, such as: showers, towels, private lockers, changing rooms and drinking water.
The only thing you need to bring to our surfing lesson is swimwear such as swimming shorts or bikini, and sunscreen. We will provide the rest!
- Is it possible to use my surfboard after the lesson?
Yes, after the surfing lesson it is possible to rent a surfboard for an additional charge.
- What kind of payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash in Indonesian Rupiah or US dollars. We also accept all major credit cards.
- Can I get a refund in case of bad weather?
No, there is no refund provided if the lesson is cancelled due to bad weather. If the surf conditions become unsafe during the lesson, the instructors will continue the lesson on the beach or the lesson will be rescheduled if necessary.
- What happens if I get injured during the lesson?
If you get injured during one of our lessons, we will provide first aid assistance and if necessary our staff will bring you to the hospital for further treatment. These services are covered by our insurance.
You are responsible for finishing the full duration of the lesson. If you get injured or you can’t finish the lesson for some reason, there will be no refund provided.
- Can I cancel my booking on the day of the lesson itself?
Cancellations and no-shows on the due date will be charged with 100% of the published rate.
- Is your surf schedule flexible?
Unfortunately no, all of our lesson times follow the tide conditions. We (usually) provide two lessons a day during mid tide. At this time the water will be the safest for beginners. It is not possible to book a lesson that is outside our timetable. Safety is our number one priority, so we stick to the tide schedules.
- If I book a surf package, do I need to surf for mutable days in a row?
If you book a surfing package and you have multiple lessons, it is up to you when you want to surf. For example, if you book a package for three days you can choose to do all three days in a row. It is also possible to fit in a few rest days. If you book a surfing package, you get to choose which days you want to surf!
- What is the minimum age for you surfing lessons?
The minimum age for our KIDS private lessons is 7 years old. We have set the minimum age at 7 because we want to ensure our customers safety at all times. The minimum age for the adult group lessons is 15 years old.
- Do I need to be able to swim to go surfing with Odysseys Surf School?
No, you don’t need to be able to swim to go surfing with us. All of our lessons are during mid tide. During this time the water will not reach higher than your chest. As extra safety we have our own lifeguards who are always on stand-by on the beach or in the water. Besides our lifeguards, we also have certified instructors who will never leave your side while you are in the water.
